On August 3rd, 2020, Members of PBA Local 59 assisted Liv like a Unicorn in providing care packages and Law Enforcement Patches to Jaxson Butkus.  Jaxson, a 5-year-old Future Law Enforcement Officer is fighting his 2nd battle against Brain Cancer.  Officers that assisted in the delivery are Ofc’s J. Harkins, C. Olexa, T. Gardner and R. Saunders with Cape May County Sheriff’s Officers as well as Ofc. J. Caulfield from Marlboro Twp. Police.  The Care Package contained over 1,400 Department Patches from around the World, clothing items, toys, stuffed animals as well as pounds of candy.

Emma Lipnicky, CEO of Liv like a Unicorn reached out to the Officers to see if anyone could assist with delivering the items to Jaxson’s home in Williamstown.  Liv like a Unicorn is a Non-profit that raises funds to support families that are battling Brain and Spinal Cord Cancers.  Emma, Mother of Olivia Lipnicky, the Founder of Liv like a Unicorn, knows firsthand what tolls are placed on a family that are fighting a Cancer with No Cure.  Part of the funds raised support research in hopes that a cure can be found as well as provide financial aid for the families.
