Identification Unit
The Identification Unit falls under the Law Enforcement Division and primarily works in conjunction with the Warrants unit. It is the central point of information processing for the Sheriff's Office and is responsible for collecting, organizing and disseminating information about incarcerated and wanted persons to other law enforcement agencies in the country. Personnel within this division are trained using numerous computer systems on Federal, State, County and Local levels in order to acquire the necessary data. The data is processed and verified in order to assist law enforcement agency's that do not have access to these systems. The dissemination of intelligence is carefully regulated by all levels of government, insuring that only law enforcement personnel have access to this information.

County Central Communications
County Central Communications is the county's law enforcement radio operations center that is managed by the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management. All Motor vehicle, Drivers license and on the spot warrant inquiries are requested via a single county wide frequency. This service is provided to municipalities within the county as a back up in the event their computer system should go out of service and is monitored by both the Law Enforcement and Correctional Divisions.
Responsibilities of County Central Communications include:
Monitor National and State Crime Information teletypes
Monitor Cape May County band Police radios
Provide the following services to law enforcement agencies:
